The Unió de Consells Esportius de Catalunya (UCEC) is dedicated to the promotion, training and management of services —inherent, mandatory or complementary— to physical and sport activities. It’s also dedicated to the organization of physical and sport activities at school age and to the organization of popular and leisure sports —understood as non-federated physical and sport activities— in all age groups. The sporting model defended by the Sports Councils of Catalonia is based on the right to practice physical and sport activities for everyone, under equal conditions, without any type of discrimination, enhancing personal values and social responsibility, and promoting the health and the healthy habits of all citizens throughout all stages of life. OBJECTIVES: To collaborate with the Sports Councils for their proper functioning, management, quality and transparency. To guarantee that the physical and sport activities are carried out under the criteria of health, cohesion, social inclusion, personal values, and values of community and responsibility. To create the necessary conditions and appropriate structures to put physical activity and sport at the service of all citizens as a right for everyone. To develop popular sport in all its aspects so all citizens, from the end of their school stage until old age, can continue practicing sport outside of any performance model.
